Let's be honest here, in my opinion Lil Wayne is my favorite Hip Hop artist. Not only is he actually smart, but I like his music. I can't say he's the best of the best, though.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call him the best although it's based on opinion but I would call him the hottest or most popular. Everyone kinda went overboard with calling him the best because he sold like 1 million albums in the first week or because he did alot of great features and mixtapes. Although that's a great achievement I think it's more than that. To me Lil Wayne can say almost anything on a record and still make it hot. He just goes in the booth and spits whatever on his mind.(How does he do that Idk.) I like Lil Wayne along with other artists but I would put Lupe Fiasco up there with the greats.

ReplyDeleteHe's not the best, in fact he shouldn't even be mentioned in that category. The fact of the matter is that fans nowadays listen to the mainstream and only hear what they hear on the radio. Lil Wayne being one of those radio artist is considered the best because he's practically the best out of most mainstream rappers. But not the best of all time or alive. If anything, Eminem deserves the title for best alive along with Nas. Some forget that legends are accountable even if they are alive.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much Competition out there it's really hard to say if one is the best, I have a single called Once Upon a Rat and I feel I'm the best rapper.
ReplyDeleteEminem is the best because he can do it all. He has at least one, maybe two CD's that are going to eventually be considered classics (MMLP & Eminem Show). Lil Wayne is also one of my favorite's but he doesn't write any songs with meaning.
